Welcome to 5th Grade Math!
I am Mrs. Guess, and I am EXCITED to be joining the Moody Middle School Bearcat family this year! I have loved the Moody community since I met and married Mr. Guess, one of your band directors. Football games, band performances, the people, and the culture of the community is what made me what to be a BEARCAT! I feel honored to join Moody ISD to share my passion for Math and making it all make sense with my students.
I am beginning my 13th year in education where I have taught 5th grade Math and Science in addition to serving as an Instructional Coach. My love of math, seeing students have light bulb moments, and hearing "I really CAN do the hard things" is what makes my heart LOVE being a teacher. My goal is to make all students show growth and to understand how Math connects to their world.
We have lots to learn. There will be challenges, bumps, and struggles along the way; however, there will also be exciting breakthroughs, lots of laughter, growth and successes to celebrate. We all have things that stress us out, but working together, we are going to learn to face those challenges head on. We will be RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and RESILIENT as we make our way through the 2025-2026 school year. I am so glad you are here!
