8th Grade Loses to Riesel

Our 8th grade team took on the Riesel Indians on Thursday night.
After only having 4 plays of offense in the first half, the 'Cats went down 0-14 at the break. Adjustments at halftime led to the defense coming up big in the second half, holding the Indians to just 6 points. The defense was led by Ryder Hohhertz with 15 tackles, Juvenall Sanchez with 8 tackles (6 for loss), and Malachi Reynolds with 6 tackles and a fumble recovery.
The offense put together good drives in the second half led by the rushing attack of Hohhertz (24 carries for 145 yards) and Owen Watson (11 carries for 64 yards). Both young men scored touchdowns in the second half.
Unfortunately the Bearcats ran out of time, and the Indians took the win 20-14. The 'Cats have a bye week next week, and will take on Bosqueville in 2 weeks. Come out and support the boys as they continue to improve.
